About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years nursing experience (RN) License: Active RN license or compact license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Must have 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and/or 2 years comprehensive stroke center experience in a large hospital with some Neuro experience. Description: This position involves working in a fast-paced ICU treating neurological diseases and disorders, including seizures and strokes. The unit also treats overflow ICU patients from other ICUs. The candidate will be required to float to other units as necessary based on the needs of the facility. The candidate must be willing to float to different campuses within a defined radius. Candidates must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. The unit provides interdisciplinary support from various teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Common patient diagnoses include ischemic strokes, hemorrhagic strokes, and neurological disorders. Bedside procedures may include EVD placement, bronchoscopy, and central line management. The unit requires proficiency in managing complex critical care equipment and technologies. Candidates should have experience interpreting dysrhythmias and managing patients with multi-system organ dysfunction. The work environment is high acuity and candidates should be adept at handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
