Buyer/Planner

About the JobAs a Buyer/Planner you will coordinate the flow of materials through the complete production cycle. Support customer on-time delivery by developing production/supply plans based on demand forecasts, availability of materials, and manufacturing capacity. Define and maintain appropriate planning parameters in ERP systems to optimize subassembly production and raw material supply plans. Evaluate and analyze data regarding processes and systems. Resolve problems with inventory, production schedules, or materials shortages and implement countermeasures to avoid future problems. Establish a balance between supply and customer demand to optimize inventory turnover.ResponsibilitiesCommunicate and coordinate with factory teams to ensure continuous supply of product, meeting quality and delivery standardsResolve any vendor line stopping issuesDrive forward our Lean culture by implementing consignment, Kanban, just-in-time, postponement, and other materials strategies to reduce inventory while maintaining inventory availabilityDevelop action plans and countermeasures with schedulers, development, and factory teams for inventory controlParticipate and initiate continuous improvement through use of appropriate FBS (Fortive Business System) toolsQualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or similar relevant experienceProven ability to solve complex problems related to inventory controlMust be proficient in Excel (advanced formulas, pivots, if/then)Self-starter who seeks out ways to improve processes before being askedAbility to deliver results in a fast paced, metric driven environment2+ years of experience in planning and lean inventory managementUnderstanding of material flow and replenishment methodsThe ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects/tasks at one timeDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teamsFortive Corporation OverviewFortive's essential technology makes the world safer and more productive. Pay RangeThe salary range for this position (in local currency) is 61,500.00 - 102,700.00Is this role subject to ITAR?The essential duties of this position require adherence to U.S. Government export control regulations.
