Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a night shift Acute Telemetry position in Alexandria, LA, caring for cardiac patients including MI, CHF, and arrhythmias, with an every-other-weekend requirement. Requirements Active RN license in Louisiana or a compact state currently in hand Current BLS certification from the AHA required Current ACLS certification from the AHA required Minimum 1 year of telemetry or related nursing specialty experience preferred BSN preferred Responsibilities Acute Telemetry unit in a hospital setting Patient population includes MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and some med-surg overflow Cardiac drip management is performed on this unit (nitrates are not used) Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1, occasionally 6:1 Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Every other weekend required No on-call responsibilities 13-week contract Provides nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation Responsible for medication and treatment administration per protocol, including monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families New hires attend orientation within the first 30 days and are precepted by a designated trained staff member Ceil blue scrubs required Temp-to-perm conversion is a possibility Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate Candidates who have previously worked at any CHRISTUS Health facility (non-travel) must have a minimum 6-month separation before being considered for a travel assignment - this applies across the entire CHRISTUS Health System Two references required for consideration A US Social Security Number is required for consideration Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts Job ID: P-734877 Open Positions: 2 #J-18808-Ljbffr
