Role and responsibilities Design, develop, implement and sustain manufacturing methods, operation sequences and processes for critical consumable components. Manage factory metrics such as yield, cycle time and capacity. Design and execute qualification tests for manufacturing process or equipment changes. Create assembly and test processes and procedures. Apply statistical methods to analyze in‑line and end‑user quality data. Evaluate and analyze data using MS Excel, MS Access, JMP, Minitab and Lab View, and recommend process or design modifications. Build and maintain databases. Investigate and report root causes of problems, follow up with corrective actions. Prepare, analyze and report factory metrics on a regular basis. Work with design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Coordinate special build activities between Engineering and Manufacturing. Lead and/or participate as a member of cross‑functional teams. Conduct time and efficiency studies and develop improved processes based on findings. Coordinate and implement change and deviation activities to flow through manufacturing and maintain track records. Participate in daily factory meetings and drive resolutions of major problems. Participate in subsystem design reviews and evaluate new product designs for manufacturability, quality, and reliability. Implement containment and corrective actions. Create data‑collection reports for the manufacturing organization. Develop and refine business processes. Facilitate completion of prototype and pilot production units to meet schedule requirements. Deliver technical support to contribute to rapid solutions of complex technical issues. Arrange proper follow‑up to minimize impact on cycle time. Prevent disturbances from re‑occurring by feeding issue resolution into collaboration with NPI Manufacturing Engineering, sustaining Manufacturing Engineering, and Design Engineering. Enable self‑supportiveness of the first line by sharing knowledge and development. Participate in continuous improvement projects. Required to be onsite for 100% of the working week during working hours. Perform other duties as assigned. Job description subject to change at any time. Education and experience Bachelor's Degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline, preferably Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a cleanroom or factory setting. Advanced experience using Excel, MS Access, LabVIEW, JMP, MS Project, Minitab, Visual Basic and equivalent programming knowledge. Competence in electrical, software and mechanical troubleshooting and functions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats. Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques. Familiarity with LEAN Manufacturing concepts. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the company. Comfortable with a rapidly changing work environment. Ability to multi‑task and set priorities without jeopardizing project schedule. Understanding of BOM (Bill‑of‑Material) structuring fundamentals. Skills Observe and respond to people and situations and interact with others encountered in the course of work. Read and interpret data, information, and documents. Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency and professionalism. Complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy. Perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads and deadlines. Result‑driven and demonstrate ownership and accountability. Identify bottlenecks and drive improvements. Work independently or as part of a team and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision. Demonstrate open, clear, concise and professional communication. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with manager, co‑workers and customer. Work according to a strict set of procedures within the provided timelines. Physical and work environment Required to sit, walk, talk, hear, use hands to type, handle, feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch; occasionally lift and move up to 20 pounds. May require travel, both domestic and international, depending on business needs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be willing to work in a cleanroom environment while wearing coveralls, hood, booties, safety glasses and gloves for the entire shift. Must operate and work around overhead cranes, fork trucks and motorized pallet movers. Must work around lasers, ladders, platforms and chemicals. May occasionally be required to move around the campus. Other work duties as needed. Compensation and benefits The current base annual salary range for this role is $81,375–$122,063. Employees receive medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, a 401(k) plan, eight hours of vacation leave each month, and 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
