Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician The British International School of Houston is seeking to hire a Maintenance Technician to assist our Facilities Department. The position ensures day-to-day upkeep, maintenance and smooth operation of the building and campus. About this Role Operational Expertise (Job Duties include but are not limited to the following) Work safely and follow school’s safety protocol Provides quality service with attention to detail. Moves heavy furniture, equipment and supplies. Ensure Campus is maintained to high standard at all times. Notifies managers about the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Sets up, arranges and removes decorations, tables, chairs, ladders and scaffolding to prepare facilities for special events. Performs other duties as assigned. Adapts working style and pace to changing conditions. Engagement and Interaction Ensure high quality communication: language, tonality and structure. Maintain high levels of warmth and enthusiasm throughout all communications. Ask appropriate questions to capture required information ensuring consistent attention to detail. Qualifications and Requirements Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in commercial maintenance or proven experience in a hands on mechanical setting. Knowledge of HVAC commercial units Knowledge of OSAH regulations Solid understanding of technical aspects of mechanical, structural, plumbing and electrical systems with the ability to trouble shoot. Must be familiar with power tools and safety. Ability to kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, reach and lift/carry up to 40 lbs.
