Veterinary Extern - General Practice

Externship Opportunity Our growing GP practice proudly provides gold standard care for both traditional companion animals and exotics, supported by the expertise of our new medical director. We are a close knit, collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care through teamwork, positivity, and clear, compassionate communication. We strive to ensure every client and patient has a positive experience—no matter the reason for their visit. An externship experience at Pet Street Veterinary Care will give students the unique opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations of the practice, and to gain valuable hands‑on clinical experience. Responsibilities Gather patient histories Perform physical exams Create treatment plans Carry out diagnostics Provide dentistry services Observe, assist, or perform surgical procedures Manage medical care of patients Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients Externship duration ranges from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate. Students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
