Tulsa County Parks Department Seasonal Splash Park Supervisor

Under close supervision, supervises patrons at the Tulsa County Parks Department splash park by performing the following duties.

Essential Job Functions:

• Monitor water slide activities.
• Ensure patrons utilize the water slide in an orderly manner.
• Observe all water park activities to ensure a safe environment for patrons.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

• Skill in identifying unsafe behavior.
• Knowledge of water safety; and of CPR/First aid.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Computer Skills: None required.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
• Education and/or Experience: No prior experience or training required.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume, and distance.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to assume a stationary position; move or transverse; operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, detect, position; reach with hands and arms; ascend/descend, traverse; position self (to), move; communicate, covey, express oneself, exchange information.
• The employee is frequently required to detect, perceive, identify, recognize, observe, inspect, assess. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell.
• The employee must regularly transport, move, position, put, install up to 10 pounds, occasionally transport, move, position, put, install up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

• While performing this job the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to working near moving, mechanical parts, extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to working in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
