Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time contract role, located near Orland Park, IL, focuses on providing push-in and pull-out instruction at the CICS Washington Park campus for students with a variety of learning needs, particularly in the areas of reading fluency, comprehension, and foundational math. The caseload primarily features students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Developmental Disabilities (DD), averaging around 20 students.

Your mission: deliver high-quality, individualized instruction in alignment with each student’s IEP, while working collaboratively with an engaged school team. Success in this position means helping every student unlock their full academic and personal potential, systematically promoting appropriate behaviors, and contributing to a nurturing and rigorous learning environment.

To thrive in this role, you’ll possess:

• A valid LBS1 Teacher Certification
• A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
• 1–5 years of teaching experience, preferably in special education or inclusive settings
• Strong belief that low-income students can excel academically and be college-career ready
• Demonstrated mastery of academic content and behavioral interventions
• Strong communication skills—both written and verbal
• Flexibility, creativity, and high expectations for personal and team achievement
• Commitment to continuous growth through feedback and collaboration

Responsibilities include:

• Creating and delivering specialized instruction per IEPs
• Providing both academic and behavioral interventions
• Monitoring and documenting student progress
• Collaborating with general education teachers and support staff
• Communicating effectively with families and team members
