The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for caring for patients and maintaining accurate and current patient records. Location San Diego, CA Type 1099 Contract - No Benefits - On Site - Hours Varies Title NP - Consultant Nurse Practitioner Pay Grade $145/HR - $150/HR DOE Responsibilities Conducts psychiatric assessments and presents them at team and treatment planning meetings Supervises the treatment team in the comprehensive assessment of psychiatric history. Collaborates with registered nurse in assessment of physical health, making appropriate referral to community physicians. Prescribes psychotropic medications and conducts regular assessments of therapeutic responses and side effects, providing patient education as needed. Provides on-site crisis assessment and is available for on call hours as needed or assigned. Responds appropriately to medical emergencies. Complies with formulary as mandated by County Medi-Cal guidelines; participates in Patient Assistance Program to ensure maximum cost-effectiveness. Initiates appropriate and timely interventions on an ongoing basis; provides crisis intervention as needed. Provides documentation per format requirements for individual client’s progress, describing behavior and treatment objectives and outcomes. Assumes an active part in treatment team, providing appropriate input to the treatment plan. Seeks guidance from agency Medical Director when necessary and implements recommendations and directives. Responds to and cooperates with inquiries and recommendations of Medication Monitoring Committee; makes corrections to documentation and adjustments to procedures as needed. Provides input as required during initial client intake and assessment. Complies with all MHS and program rules, policies and procedures including HIPAA standards. Qualifications A master’s degree or Ph.D. from an accredited institution of Graduate Medical Education with approved Nurse Practitioner program. Board certified or Board eligible with Board of Registered Nursing (BRN). Active DEA certificate to prescribe in the State of California. Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite and EHR software. Ability to problem solve and react appropriately to emergency situations. Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with a team.
