Materials Management Specialist
$25 - $30 per hourAery Aviation
This is an houly, full-time, onsite role. The Aircraft Parts & Materials Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory and supporting the control, storage, issue, return, and movement of aircraft parts and materials in an FAA Part 145 repair-station environment. This position supports inventory accuracy, material traceability, work-order readiness, cores, rotables, receiving, shipping, and other Materials Department functions. The position reports to the Materials Lead and works closely with Procurement, Planning, Maintenance, and Quality. What You Will Be Doing Inventory and Parts Management Maintain accurate aircraft parts and materials inventory in Quantum MX. Perform cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliations. Research and resolve inventory discrepancies, quantity differences, and location errors. Maintain accurate part numbers, descriptions, units of measure, alternate part numbers, serial numbers, lot numbers, and bin locations. Assist with item-master cleanup and correction of duplicate or inaccurate records. Support inventory min/max levels and stock-replenishment recommendations. Identify excess, obsolete, unidentified, or slow-moving inventory. Maintain organized and properly identified inventory storage locations.Describe the experience and attributes of the ideal candidate Parts Issue, Return, and Work-Order Support Issue aircraft parts and materials to authorized work orders. Process returned, unused, repairable, and unserviceable material. Verify part number, quantity, condition, serial number, lot number, and required documentation during issue and return transactions. Maintain traceability between the physical part, Quantum MX inventory record, work order, and supporting records. Stage and kit materials for aircraft work orders and maintenance requirements. Support parts-counter requests and provide material-status updates. Assist with material transfers between locations and operating sites. Material Traceability and Documentation Ensure aircraft parts and materials are supported by the required documentation, including Certificates of Conformance (CoC), FAA Form 8130-3, packing slips, receiving records, and other applicable traceability documents. Verify that the physical part matches the part number, serial number, lot number, quantity, condition, and records entered in Quantum MX. Review CoCs, FAA Form 8130-3s, and related records for completeness, legibility, and proper association with the correct part. Upload and maintain CoCs, FAA Form 8130-3s, and supporting documents in Quantum MX or the designated records system. Maintain traceability during receiving, storage, transfer, issue, return, repair shipment, and return-to-stock activities. Prevent parts from being issued when required documentation is missing, incomplete, mismatched, or questionable. Report mismatched part numbers, serial numbers, quantities, conditions, CoCs, FAA Form 8130-3s, or other supporting records. Support correction of historical inventory records when documents are missing, incorrectly attached, or linked to the wrong part. Support internal, customer, Quality, and FAA audits involving material records and traceability. Cores and Rotables Maintain accurate location, condition, serial number, and status records for cores and rotable components. Support the identification, segregation, and movement of repairable parts. Coordinate with Procurement regarding components requiring repair, overhaul, exchange, inspection, or return. Track removed components until they are shipped for service or returned to inventory. Ensure cores and rotables remain linked to the correct work order, removal information, inventory record, CoC, FAA Form 8130-3, and other applicable records. Support core returns and reconciliation of core and rotable inventory. Materials Operations and Compliance Assist with receiving, shipping, warehouse organization, and material movement. Support tool-room and calibration inventory activities when required. Verify that materials are properly labeled, stored, identified, and protected. Maintain serviceable, unserviceable, quarantine, shelf-life, and HAZMAT segregation requirements. Follow FAA Part 145, company quality, inventory-control, and material-handling procedures. Segregate and report damaged, expired, unidentified, improperly documented, or nonconforming material. Work with Quality and Procurement to resolve documentation and traceability discrepancies before material is accepted or issued. You Must Have Three or more years of aviation materials, inventory, warehouse, parts, or supply-chain experience. Experience performing inventory transactions, cycle counts, and discrepancy research. Experience reviewing aircraft material records and traceability documentation. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Experience using an ERP or inventory-management system. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to safely lift, move, and store aircraft parts and materials. Nice to Haves FAA Part 145 or Part 135 experience. Experience with Quantum MX. Knowledge of Certificates of Conformance, FAA Form 8130-3, and aircraft-parts traceability requirements. Experience with serialized parts, cores, rotables, repairable components, and exchanges. Experience with shelf-life, HAZMAT, tooling, and calibration controls. Forklift certification or the ability to become certified.
