Human Resource CoordinatorThe Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for managing personnel-related functions for the organization's team members. This role supports recruitment and retention, employment eligibility, orientation, team member relations, training and development, regulatory compliance, workers' compensation, personnel records, terminations, and exit interviews.The Human Resources Coordinator also explains approved benefits and compensation, serves as a resource on organizational policies and the team member handbook, and works under the direction of the Campus Director. The ideal candidate is organized, knowledgeable, approachable, and able to exercise initiative and independent judgment while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.Position Responsibilities:Recruit, screen, interview, and evaluate candidates for employment, referring qualified applicants to the appropriate Team LeaderConduct orientation for new team membersEnsure all required pre-employment procedures are completedPrepare internal job postings and external employment advertisementsMaintain and update confidential team member personnel filesCompile reports, including team member turnover dataComplete required government reports, including OSHA Forms 300 and 301 and unemployment compensation documentationRespond to audits and charges from compliance agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity CommissionOversee the maintenance of team member benefit plansAnswer team member questions regarding benefits, human resources matters, and team member relationsMaintain compliance with state and federal regulations governing team member benefits, including ERISA, COBRA, and HIPAAUnderstand and communicate federal and state employment laws related to FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, and Department of Labor requirementsCommunicate and coordinate the organization's grievance procedureAssist supervisors with personnel matters, including placement concerns, probationary employment decisions, transfers, demotions, retention, and dismissalsInvestigate harassment claims, maintain confidentiality, and keep the Campus Director informed of progressDevelop and maintain team member retention strategies and incentive programsCoordinate and participate in team member training, morale-building activities, and other engagement initiativesEncourage team member involvement at all levels of the organizationParticipate actively on task forces and organizational committeesGather team member feedback through surveys, focus groups, and individual meetings, then develop and implement appropriate follow-up plansPromote strong customer service standards through encouragement, communication, and positive relationship-buildingPromote collaboration among staff and management to improve communication and problem-solvingEnforce organizational human resources policiesStay informed about human resources trends, laws, regulations, and best practicesContinue professional growth through educational programs, workshops, professional literature, and in-service meetingsRepresent Baptist Village professionally and demonstrate commitment to the mission of Baptist Village CommunitiesPerform other duties as assignedPosition Qualifications:Bachelor's degree preferredThree to five years of equivalent experience as a human resources generalistPrevious supervisory experience preferredConsiderable knowledge of human resources principles and practices, with emphasis on state and federal laws affecting employment, wages and hours, and benefitsHighly developed interpersonal skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities effectivelyStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work efficiently and professionally with team members at all levels of the organizationMature judgment and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretionCustomer service-focused approach to problem-solvingWork Environment:This position works closely with team members, supervisors, campus leadership, benefit providers, and regulatory agencies.
