Pricing Coordinator

Description Position Summary: The Pricing Coordinator is responsible for managing and optimizing customer pricing across all company branches to improve profitability and maintain competitive positioning. This role serves as a critical link between sales, purchasing, and marketing, leveraging data analysis to guide pricing strategies and support business growth. The Pricing Coordinator will play an integral role in analyzing trends, identifying margin opportunities, and implementing structured pricing programs that strengthen customer relationships and company performance. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities : Pricing and Profitability Management • Manage customer pricing to optimize company profitability and competitiveness. • Analyze profitability and sell-through data across product categories. • Position pricing to optimize capture rate while maintaining strong gross margin performance, targeting overall growth in gross margin dollars. • Develop and maintain structured pricing methods and margin strategies based on data-driven insights. Competitive, Market, and Sales Analysis • Analyze and organize competitive, market, and sales data to ensure the company remains competitively positioned across all markets. • Identify pricing, sales, and margin trends to uncover opportunities for growth and improved profitability. • Collaborate with Sales Leadership to align pricing strategies with customer behavior and market demand. • Provide actionable insights and regular reporting on sales trends, customer profitability, and regional performance. Price Program Administration • Manage the customer pricing program, including all setup and maintenance of item price groups in coordination with purchasing and marketing. • Maintain accurate customer price books and coordinate updates with the marketing department. • Ensure all pricing data and adjustments align with company goals and policy standards. Promotions and Campaign Support • Develop methods to analyze and track performance of company promotions, new product launches, and marketing initiatives. • Make recommendations for promotions, campaigns, and seasonal programs based on data analysis and profitability outcomes. • Suggest pricing adjustments to improve sell-through and customer engagement while maintaining margin integrity. Collaboration • Support pricing alignment initiatives across multiple business units and operational structures. • Assist with pricing standardization efforts while minimizing customer disruption during transitions or system changes. • Collaborate closely with sales, purchasing, and marketing teams to ensure consistency and transparency in all pricing-related initiatives. • Communicate effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams regarding pricing strategy, performance, and updates. • Perform any additional duties or responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs. Requirements Minimum Qualifications : • 2+ years of industry experience, preferably within HVAC distribution or a related wholesale environment. • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis functions. • Experience with ERP systems, pricing software, or business intelligence tools preferred. • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage and analyze large datasets accurately. • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Proactive problem solver who can balance profitability goals with market competitiveness and customer relationships. • Adaptable and collaborative with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments. • Ability to understand product codes, pricing structures, and industry terminology. Physical Demands: • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. • Frequent use of computers, keyboards, phones, and other standard office equipment. • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with employees, customers, vendors, and leadership. • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret data, reports, pricing information, and business documents accurately. • Ability to maintain attention to detail while managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Must be able to occasionally move or lift materials such as product samples, marketing displays, or printed materials up to 20 pounds. • Ability to work collaboratively in a shared office environment with regular interaction across departments. • Requires the ability to remain productive and focused despite interruptions, background noise, and changing business priorities. • Occasional standing, walking, reaching, and carrying materials within the office may be required. • Ability to operate standard office technology and software systems necessary to perform essential job functions. Working Conditions : This position operates in a professional office environment with frequent collaboration across sales, purchasing, marketing, operations, and leadership teams. The role requires extended periods of computer work, pricing analysis, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The Pricing Coordinator must be able to respond to time-sensitive pricing requests, support branch pricing updates and promotional initiatives, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams. The employee must maintain focus and productivity in a shared office setting with regular interruptions, conversations, and shifting priorities. Occasional participation in meetings, training sessions, and company projects may be required.
