RN - PCU

Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation. No guarantee of hours. No on-call required.

The Progressive Care Unit consists of a 15-bed unit, providing a combination of step-down ICU and telemetry care. The unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-Down ICU. This role involves primary nursing care, telemetry monitoring, and reading telemetry strips.

Provide primary nursing care for patients in a progressive care setting

Monitor patients' telemetry and respond to changes in their condition

Perform fingerstick blood sugar assessments

Utilize Meditech charting and manage medication through Pyxis

Participate in continuous cardiac monitoring

At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year

Experience in progressive care and telemetry preferred

Current Hawaii RN license required by the start of the assignment

ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications preferred

Candidate may be required to float to all acute units within the facility, which may include Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER.

Scrubs are required.
