Details Work in the Stepdown/PCU unit of a teaching hospital Care for MS/Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC, and telemetry patient populations Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30) totaling 36 hours per week Weekday schedule with occasional weekends and rotating holiday coverage required Float required within the OSU health system Epic EMR experience required Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 1 year of stepdown/PCU experience required (4 years required if primary background is MS/Tele) Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and peripheral line care/management Experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Experience with nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management Central line care/management, accessing/managing ports, and PICC line management preferred IV insulin protocol experience preferred 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for the second reference; coworker references not accepted Additional Information Provide direct patient care for stepdown/PCU patients including cardiac monitoring and respiratory support Complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines Local candidates accepted at the same rate Former employees eligible for travel assignments after being away from the facility for 6 months or more Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for traveler positions Requested RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-749158.
