About the Role

The Company is in search of an Executive Director to lead its Indigenous-focused, culturally specific nonprofit organization. The successful candidate will be a passionate and visionary advocate for Indigenous children and families, with a deep understanding of both the potential of every child and the barriers faced by families impacted by foster care. This role is pivotal in continuing to build and expand the organization's programs, particularly in the areas of fundraising, relationship development, and strategic partnerships. The Executive Director will be accountable to the Board of Directors, staff, and program participants, and will work closely with the national team to ensure program fidelity and grow the organization's impact both locally and nationally. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a minimum of 7 years' of experience working within tribal communities or tribal-serving organizations, and a minimum of 10 years' in nonprofit management, fundraising, or similar roles. The role requires a leader with strong financial acumen, strategic risk mitigation skills, and exceptional communication abilities. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) and a proven track record of problem-solving in a fast-paced, startup-style environment. Key responsibilities include fundraising, cultivating relationships with tribal nations and organizations, and leading the organization in a culturally grounded, ethical, and professional manner. The Executive Director will also be responsible for strategic planning, staff development, and ensuring the organization's financial and administrative operations are in line with its mission and values.
