Systems Administrator (Microsoft 365 & SharePoint)

Location: Remote, United States

Employment Type: Part-Time / Contract

We are seeking a highly skilled US-based Systems Administrator to manage and enhance our Microsoft 365 environment. This role will assume day-to-day Microsoft 365 administration responsibilities currently handled by an interim administrator and will lead the development of a restricted-access SharePoint environment supporting federal contract requirements.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, SharePoint Online, and Exchange Online, with strong security and access management expertise. Experience supporting regulated environments or federal contracting requirements is highly desirable.

This is a remote contract or part-time opportunity with flexible scheduling.

• Take ownership of Microsoft 365 administration, including user access, licensing coordination, and tenant security.
  
• Configure and manage Microsoft Entra ID roles and permissions.
  
• Implement and maintain Conditional Access policies and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
  
• Administer SharePoint Online sites, permissions, security groups, and document access controls.
  
• Build and deploy a restricted-access SharePoint site to support federal contract requirements.
  
• Manage Exchange Online shared mailboxes and related permissions.
  
• Support and maintain Microsoft partner relationships, including GDAP (Granular Delegated Admin Privileges).
  
• Document configurations, security controls, and administrative procedures.
  
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure secure access management and compliance requirements are met.
  
• Execute all work under a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
  

Required Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder) currently residing in the United States.
  
• Must provide written attestation of US person status as part of the engagement process.
  
• Proven hands-on experience administering:
  • Microsoft 365
    
  • Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
    
  • Conditional Access Policies
    
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
    
  • SharePoint Online
    
  • Exchange Online Shared Mailboxes
    
  • GDAP Partner Relationships
    
• Strong understanding of identity and access management best practices.
  
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  

• Familiarity with:
  • FAR 52.204-21 requirements
    
  • CMMC Level 1 controls
    
  • Federal contractor security environments
    
• Experience designing secure SharePoint collaboration environments with restricted access controls.
  

• US person status verification is required through written attestation.
  
• Selected candidate must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
  
• No installation or use of external MSP tools, including RMM or SOC platforms, within our environment.
  
• Candidate will not have authority or control over company Microsoft licensing administration decisions beyond assigned administrative duties.
