ICU Overview The ICU provides critical patients and those at risk of acute decompensation with the highest level of close monitoring and care. It serves all departments and allows patients from all services to be cared for in one area. Role Responsibilities and Skill Set As an ICU technician, you will perform the following tasks and develop critical care expertise: Nasogastric tube placement Urinary catheter placement (male and female) Central line placement Single and double lumen PICC lines Triple lumen jugular catheters Arterial puncture for arterial blood gas analysis Arterial catheter placement and care Thoracic auscultation Perfusion analysis of patients Basic electrolyte and blood gas analysis CPR Care of patients on a mechanical ventilator Care of patients with tracheostomies Care of patients with chest tubes and abdominal drains Care of patients with feeding tubes and administering nutrition through a feeding tube Calculating CRI's (analgesics, inotropes, vasopressors, electrolytes, etc.) About ACCESS LA Located in Culver City, ACCESS LA is a referral hospital with 24‑hour emergency services. Overnight/Weekend differential: $3 – $5 per hour in addition to base pay.
