About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med/Surg/Telemetry Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias - Proficiency in telemetry and remote monitoring - Experience with Rapid Response and Code teams - Knowledge in bowel obstruction, colostomy, ileostomy management, and feeding tube care - Skills in pre/post-hemodialysis management and renal failure - Competence in blood product administration and central line blood draws - Experience in IV starts, maintenance, and phlebotomy - Knowledge of emergency care such as chest tubes and non-invasive airway management - Proficiency in oxygen administration and isolation protocols - Experience with wound care and wound vac management Description: This position requires a registered nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Med/Surg and Telemetry. The ideal candidate will be able to interpret and manage dysrhythmias effectively. Experience in telemetry and remote monitoring is essential. Competence in utilizing Rapid Response and Code teams is required. Candidates should have experience with bowel obstructions, colostomies, ileostomy management, and feeding tube care. Skills in pre and post-hemodialysis management and managing renal failure are necessary. The role requires proficiency in blood product administration and ability to perform central line blood draws. Nurses must be adept at starting and maintaining IVs, as well as performing phlebotomy. Knowledge of chest tube management, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration is crucial. Candidates should be familiar with isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE). Experience in wound care and management using wound vacs will be beneficial. Flexibility to float to other units when required is expected. Weekend shifts will be required on an alternating basis. This position will involve patient care for a diverse diagnoses, including but not limited to diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, and acute renal failure.
