Abbott seeks a Buyer II for its Heart Failure Division in Pleasanton, California. The role manages procurement of raw materials, sub-assemblies, and services while optimizing inventory, negotiating with vendors, and supporting product development initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule deliveries to optimize inventory supporting production and business demands
- Review purchase requisitions and negotiate with vendors on pricing, availability, and delivery timelines
- Facilitate vendor corrective actions and partner with suppliers to improve quality performance
- Support Research and Development projects by implementing action plans for new product commercialization
- Monitor supplier performance, generate complex reports, and maintain supplier databases
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of progressively responsible purchasing experience
- 1+ years of purchasing or commodity management software experience
- Knowledge of terms and purchasing agreements enforcement
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across organizational levels
- Ability to work in matrixed, geographically diverse environments
- Willingness to travel approximately 10%, including internationally
Compensation: $85,600–$156,000 base
