We are looking for a Buyer to join a manufacturing-focused team in Fremont, California on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent position. This position will handle day-to-day purchasing activity for both production and operational needs, while keeping procurement records accurate and up to date in NetSuite. The ideal candidate brings experience in a capital equipment or similar manufacturing setting and is comfortable working with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily purchasing activity for direct and indirect materials, ensuring orders are placed accurately and on time.
• Build, revise, and maintain purchase orders in NetSuite to support ongoing operational and production requirements.
• Enter and update procurement data in the system, including new item setup, order changes, and resolution of record discrepancies.
• Source materials, components, services, and supplies that support capital equipment manufacturing activities.
• Work with suppliers to secure and document appropriate payment and credit arrangements.
• Manage supplier tax-exemption documentation and keep related records current and compliant.
• Maintain accurate vendor and purchasing information within internal systems to support reliable procurement operations.
• Prepare routine purchasing reports and assist with tracking order status, supplier activity, and procurement performance.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding lead times, availability, delivery timing, and order-related issues.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to help ensure materials and equipment are available to meet business demands.• 3 to 8 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or buyer-related work.
• Background supporting both direct and indirect buying activities.
• Experience in capital equipment, manufacturing, or another product-based environment.
• Familiarity with procuring raw materials, commodities, and components used in manufactured products.
• Strong system skills with accurate, high-volume data entry capability.
• NetSuite experience is strongly preferred.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage priorities independently.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to follow through effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
