Part-time Non-Profit Accountant

Accentuate Staffing is currently seeking a Part-time Accountant for our Non-Profit client in Morrisville, NC 27560 . Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Part-time Accountant will be supporting a dual-entity nonprofit (501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4)) during a period of audit, systems improvement, and financial cleanup. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and support annual financial audits for c3 and c4 entities
• Clean up and reconcile balance sheet accounts and historical issues
• Support accounting system implementation or optimization
• Maintain accurate fund, grant, and inter-entity accounting
• Track grant budgets, expenses, and compliance (c3)
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and close support
• Assist with Forms 990 and coordinate with external tax preparers
• Improve internal controls and accounting processes
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable, revenue & expense reports

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 7+ years of accounting experience
• Non-Profit Industry experience required
• Strong audit and accounting cleanup experience
• Experience with grant tracking and fund accounting
• Working knowledge of Form 990 (c3 and c4)
• Experience with cost allocations and multi-entity accounting
• Proficiency in common nonprofit accounting systems
• Advanced Excel skills
