Full-Stack Web Developer Position

At 4Geeks Academy we are revolutionizing the programming education industry, graduating junior software developers 10 times faster than universities. 90% of our students have been hired in programming related positions and have improved their salaries by 30%. We have graduated more than 650 students in Miami, Spain, Chile, Venezuela, Costa Rica and Uruguay. We are looking to hire a full-stack web developer on a part-time (6pm to 9pm) to teach code.

What will your responsibilities be?

• Leading the classes within the classroom.
• Setting the rhythm of the class, putting the pressure and deadlines on the students and making sure your cohort is on schedule.
• Preparing your classes and making sure the projects instructions, and exercises are properly explained and followed by the students.
• Identifying areas of improvement on the syllabus, tutorials, exercises or projects.
• Making sure students are not stuck for a long period of time (minutes instead of hours or days).
• Leading the teacher assistants in helping you with answering questions and reviewing the exercises.

What requirements do you need?

• Senior developer with years of experience.
• Advanced understanding of HTML and CSS: CSS Selectors, Pseudo-selectors and Specificity, Display, Position, Flex, Bootstrap, etc.
• Deep understanding of Javascript ES2017 concepts: Looping with or without mutations (for, while, for Each, map, reduce, etc.), Classes vs Functions, Data Structures, Object Literals, Events, working with the DOM.
• Experience with React.js: The majority of the front-end coding is based on React.js, you need to understand Flux, Context API, Component Lifecycle, etc.
• API consumption: Use of fetch, consuming REST API's, async/await, Promises, JSON, serialization, etc.
• Python and Django knowledge: Develop API's with django-rest or Flask framework.
• Very flexible hours, you can and should keep your current job.
