Account Service Representative

This position reports to the Customer Service and Logistics Manager and was created to support and provide first class customer service to both internal and external customers. Your primary responsibilities include but are not limited to; order entry, production tracking and updates, freight coordination, pick ticket and invoice creations and AS400 file maintenance. You will also assist with imports and freight shopping and rate negotiation from time to time.

On a daily basis our Account Service Representative:

• Maintain continuous interaction with customers through a variety of outlets. Update department manager on all primary accounts. Back up the department on non-primary accounts.
• Must be extremely detail-oriented and have the ability to prioritize a heavy workload based on the importance of the task at hand.
• Gain knowledge of the AS-400 inventory and order entry systems. Update pricing on an annual basis or as needed.
• Acknowledge receipt of all sales orders by the end of that business day. Process all new PO's and keep the customer updated with any changes that need to be made. A tentative ship date should be relayed to the customer within 3 business days. Follow up with the customer after the delivery has been made to be sure there were no issues.
• Keep the truck build program up to date by adding new products, updating case or pallet counts, etc., as necessary.
• Assist in securing carriers for each shipment by quoting several carriers for the best rate possible. This will include sending shipment information along with a ship date to each carrier and comparing rates.
• Assist management and other departments on imports. Build containers to max capacity and calculate the landed cost. Follow up on order status and keep departments updated.
• Build a strong relationship with the shipping department. Ensure that tickets are sent to shipping in a timely manner for picking and staging on the ship floor.
• Work with production team on scheduling to enable accurate ship dates.
• Other duties, as assigned.

What You Will Need:

• 3-5 years of customer service experience
• Experience in Manufacturing, distribution, or logistics preferred
• Effectively communicate verbally on the phone and email.
• Detail oriented and organized
• Have computer skills including word, excel, and outlook.
