Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adults in the PCU, including patients with sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy
• Monitor vital signs, labs, and clinical status; administer medications and IV therapies per orders; respond to changes in condition
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, case management, and ancillary staff; document care in the electronic medical record and ensure timely communications
• Maintain patient safety, implement infection-control practices, manage patient comfort, and provide patient and family education
• Adhere to unit protocols, care plans, and 1:4 patient ratio requirements; participate in rounds and care coordination

Requirements

• Active RN license in Georgia (or eligibility to obtain)
• Minimum 2 years of PCU or step-down experience
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity inpatient PCU with 1:4 patient ratio
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and document care accurately
