Step into an exciting opportunity supporting students and staff as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) working in both school-based and healthcare settings. This contract position, covering a maternity leave, will allow you to apply your expertise and passion in speech support services to help students reach their full communication potential. The assignment is situated near Ontario and Glendora, California, and is projected to start mid-November.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Active SLPA license in California
- Experience working in K-12 school environments
- Familiarity with both school and healthcare-related speech-language therapy practices
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with students, teachers, family members, and fellow professionals
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Adaptability and professionalism in a dynamic educational environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy sessions to students under SLP supervision
- Assist in screening, assessment, and documentation of student progress
- Support IEP implementation and monitor students’ communication goals
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with district and state guidelines
- Collaborate with educators and school staff to create effective communication strategies in the classroom
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to educational planning
