Real Estate Associate

Location: Chicago, IL or San Franciso, CA A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Commercial Real Estate Associate to join its nationally growing real estate practice. This role offers the opportunity to advise institutional investors, developers, and private equity clients on sophisticated commercial real estate matters while working with teams across jurisdictions in the U.S. What You'll Work On Acquisitions, dispositions, and financings across office, retail, logistics, healthcare/senior living, student housing, hospitality, and data centers Purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, commercial leases, and joint venture agreements Title, survey, environmental, and zoning due diligence Real estate development projects from entitlement through completion Day-to-day operational matters, including lease amendments, assignments, subleases, and tenant issues Cross-disciplinary matters involving tax, construction, planning & zoning, and other practice areas What We're Looking For J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials 4-6 years of commercial real estate experience at a nationally recognized law firm Admission to the bar in the state of location preference, or ability to become admitted promptly Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and leasing Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and communication skills Experience with multi-jurisdictional matters, real estate development and capital markets structures, and institutional clients, private equity funds, or REITs is preferred.
