Real Estate Associate Attorney – Chicago

Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join a growing Chicago Real Estate practice. The ideal candidate will have meaningful experience representing real estate owners, developers, sponsors, and investment managers in sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, with a particular focus on joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions, and sponsor-side financing transactions .

Responsibilities

• Represent real estate owners, developers, sponsors, and investment managers in sophisticated commercial real estate transactions

• Handle and support joint venture transactions

• Advise on acquisitions and dispositions

• Support sponsor-side financing transactions

• Draft and negotiate transaction documents

• Manage substantial components of transactions with increasing independence

• Collaborate effectively across deal teams and practice areas

Requirements

• 3+ years of real estate experience

• Meaningful experience with sophisticated commercial real estate transactions

• Experience with joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions, and sponsor-side financing transactions

• Strong drafting and negotiation skills

• Sound commercial judgment

• Ability to take ownership of assignments and manage significant transaction components

• Strong academic background

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Proactive, detail-oriented, and self-motivated

• Admission to, or eligibility for admission to, the Illinois Bar

• Prior large law firm experience preferred but not required
