Job Posting DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Department of Neurosurgery at Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH), in partnership with the Boston Pediatric Neurosurgical Foundation, is searching for an Executive Administrative Director (EAD). This position provides executive leadership and operational oversight for one of the nation’s leading pediatric neurosurgical departments.As the first pediatric neurosurgical service in the world, the department has delivered innovative care to children requiring complex surgical treatment for neurological conditions for nearly a century. The team provides comprehensive surgical care for children with disorders of the brain, spine, and nervous system, completing more than 1,000 surgeries and 7,500 outpatient visits annually. The department is deeply integrated across BCH, contributing to numerous multidisciplinary centers and clinical programs.This role calls for a strategic, engaged leader who will partner closely with physician leadership to drive performance across all aspects of a high-acuity, high-complexity surgical department.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide overall management, strategic development, and fiscal oversight of the Department of Neurosurgery.Oversee operational, administrative, and financial functions, including medical staff appointments, budgeting, billing, and regulatory compliancePartner with the Chief of Service and Vice President to develop, execute, and monitor strategic plans aligned with departmental, foundation, and BCH institutional goalsBe accountable to the Chief of Service, Vice President, and Foundation Board of Directors for business development activities, as applicableCollaborate with faculty and BCH leadership on the development, implementation, and oversight of new clinical and academic programsLead and facilitate staff and physician faculty meetings to communicate policies, procedures, and operational updates, and to gather inputOversee employee payroll and benefits, as applicableServe as an active liaison and coordinator with all satellite practices and affiliated sitesEnsure accurate, compliant insurance billing and coding practices across department and foundation payorsAct as the lead executive in coordination, negotiation, and collaboration with the Physician OrganizationDevelop, plan, and monitor operating and capital budgets in collaboration with the Chief and BCH leadershipCollaborate with the Chief and Principal Investigators to support the research mission and provide financial oversight of grants and projectsEnsure preparation and presentation for the Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors and compliance with all state and federal requirements for a 501(c)(3) organizationParticipate on hospital task forces and committees as neededJointly report to the Chief of Service / Foundation President and the BCH Vice President of Surgical ServicesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred in Business, Public Health, or Health Care AdministrationTen or more years of senior leadership experience, preferably in an academic medical center or complex health care environmentStrong knowledge of health care IT systems and technology-enabled workflowsExcellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated ability to lead diverse teams, manage complex operational and ethical challenges, and collaborate effectively with peer leadersStatusFull-TimeRegular, Temporary, Per DiemRegular Standard Hours per Week40 Pay Range$177548.80-$284096.80 AnnualOffice/Site LocationBostonJob Posting CategoryHospital OperationsRemote Eligibility Part Remote/Hybrid AutoReqId: 86547BRDepartment: Neurosurgery
