Position Summary

Independent Home Health is seeking an experienced, organized, and motivated Head of Scheduling to oversee scheduling operations across multiple office locations throughout Pennsylvania. This leadership role is responsible for supporting scheduling teams, ensuring continuity of care coverage, maintaining operational efficiency, and helping offices meet staffing and service goals.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, enjoys mentoring others, and is willing to step in wherever needed to support the team and our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and support to scheduling staff across multiple office locations
• Train and onboard new scheduling employees on company procedures, systems, and expectations
• Monitor day-to-day scheduling operations to ensure all client hours are staffed and accounted for
• Assist offices with open shifts, call-offs, coverage issues, and urgent staffing needs
• Fill in for schedulers as needed during absences, vacancies, or high-volume periods
• Ensure schedules are maintained accurately and efficiently within company systems
• Identify workflow issues and help implement process improvements and best practices
• Communicate regularly with office leadership regarding scheduling performance and staffing concerns
• Support compliance with authorizations, care plans, and service requirements
• Assist with tracking metrics, reporting, and overall scheduling accountability
• Travel to office locations throughout Pennsylvania as needed for support and training

Qualifications

• Previous scheduling experience required, preferably in home care or healthcare
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Ability to train, mentor, and support team members
• Proficiency with scheduling software and computer systems
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout Pennsylvania

Benefits

• Salary: $60,000–$65,000 annually , based on experience
