Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary: The Senior Systems Engineer performs at an advanced level: requirements analysis and management, technical planning, systems level design, systems integration, verification and validation, cost and risk management, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for products in the warfighter systems portfolio. Analyses are performed during all phases of the product development process including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance. The Senior Systems Engineer will provide guidance to the team in the development of warfighter systems electro optical devices. This role may be located in Roanoke, VA; Merrimack, NH; or Fort Worth, TX.Primary Duties/Responsibilities:Guide multidisciplinary sensor development teamGuide development of project lifecycle plan and activities, including major milestones, reviews, and deliverablesDevelop, design, allocate, and manage user and system-level requirementsGuide development of system architectureEvaluate design tradeoffs and guide technical discussions with a multi-disciplinary engineering teamDefine and assess interfaces with functional guides and outside organizationsGuide technical reviews throughout the project lifecycleProvide oversight of verification and validation activities, including requirements traceability and complianceAid transition of product into manufacturing alongside operations and manufacturing engineeringBusiness Relationships: (This position interfaces with)Individual engineers and subsystem-level subject matter experts within and outside of the project teamProgram ManagerEducation:Bachelor's of Science Degree in the Engineering fieldPreferred - MastersEXPERIENCE/SKILLS:Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearanceMinimum of 5+ years of systems engineering experienceExperience working within the aerospace or defense industry, and delivering solutions to the appropriate standardsExperience with customer discovery/stakeholder needs and requirementsExperience with requirements management, flows down, verification & validation during the product life cycleExcellent communication skills with multi-disciplinary engineering team and government customersExperience with technical partnership with multi-disciplinary design teams (such as electrical, mechanical, optical, image science, software, firmware, or test engineers)Proficient in written (reports, proposals, white papers) and verbal skills (technical presentations)Preferred Attributes:Technical skills, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) with CameoExperience with VIS-NIR camerasCertified to INCOSE CSEP or ESEPExperience with Electro-Optical imaging systems (cameras), system design, integration, and testExperience delivering compliant Electro-Optical imaging systems to customer requirements#LI-SB1 JobFamilyEngineeringJobFunctionSystems EngineeringPayTypeSalaryHiringMinRate109242HiringMaxRate180132
