Installation Technician – Access Control & Security Systems

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Duration: 6-Month Contract

Work Environment: On-Site

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Installation Technician to join their Technical Services team supporting commercial security system installations throughout the Pittsburgh area. This role is responsible for the implementation, programming, commissioning, and support of commercial access control, intrusion, CCTV/video surveillance, and fire alarm systems .

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in electronic security systems, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in the field while working directly with clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, program, and commission commercial security systems
• Support and troubleshoot intrusion, access control, fire alarm, and CCTV/video systems
• Perform system testing and final commissioning activities
• Provide technical support both remotely and onsite as needed
• Deliver end-user training and system demonstrations to customers
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, installers, and other technical teams
• Assist fellow technical support specialists with complex technical issues
• Complete service reports, installation documentation, and project records
• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through professional communication and support
• Ensure all work complies with company and industry standards

Required Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience working with electronic security systems or related Information Technology environments
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Access Control Systems
  • CCTV / Video Surveillance Systems
  • Intrusion / Alarm Systems
  • Security System Installations
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer service and client-facing experience
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics, Information Technology, or related field
• Experience programming and commissioning commercial security systems
• Knowledge of Honeywell or other major security platforms
• Low-voltage cabling experience
• Security industry certifications or technical licenses
• Experience working with fire alarm systems

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
