Registered Nurse Float

FLOAT RN – MEDICAL CARE / POST-SURGICAL / INTERMEDIATE CAREThe Float RN will provide nursing care across the Medical Care Unit, Post-Surgical Unit, and Intermediate Care Unit (PCU). The RN applies the nursing process within the scope of practice defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Responsibilities include patient assessment and care, patient/family education, documentation, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall patient care.Key Responsibilities:Provide safe, quality nursing care across assigned units.Float between the Medical Care Unit, Post-Surgical Unit, and Intermediate Care Unit/PCU as needed.Prioritize and adapt to rapidly changing patient and unit needs.Demonstrate effective patient and family teaching skills.Respond appropriately to patient emergencies and crisis situations.Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team.Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.Demonstrate flexibility when accepting assignments to varied clinical areas.Maintain a friendly, professional, and helpful attitude.Required Qualifications:Recent hospital experience within the past 5 years.Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience.Must be willing and able to float between: Medical Care UnitPost-Surgical UnitIntermediate Care Unit/PCUSubmission Requirements:Resume.Skills checklist completed within the past 1 year.Required certifications.Oregon RN license — may be obtained after submission, but candidate must be willing to obtain it.Certifications may be obtained after submission, but candidate must be willing to obtain them.Certification Requirements:BLS – AHAACLS – AHALicense Requirement:Oregon RN License
