Manager System Operations Training

Position Summary:The Manager is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of training and qualification programs that support Crewmembers working in System Operations, Crew Services and Dispatch departments. The Manager is also responsible for partnering with operational counterparts in System Operations, Crew Services and Dispatch on training and qualification requirements.Essential Responsibilities:Coordinates the development and review of training curriculum for all System Operations, Crew Services and Dispatch CrewmembersDefines and determines training and qualification needs in accordance with Company and regulatory requirementsPartners with operational counterparts to ensure alignment in training and qualification needsPartners with various JBU teams, including Training Strategy and Design, Safety Management System, Learning Analytics, Training Systems, and Training RecordsResponsible for the quality of training providedApproves all System Operations, Crew Services and Dispatch training curriculumSelects, qualifies, evaluates and approves instructorsPartners with the System Operations Center (SOC) leadership and IT in the implementation of training for new technologies and tools for SOC CrewmembersResponsible for the accuracy of training records, where applicableTakes a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support the engagement, growth, and goal achievement Coordinates with other JBU college managers ensuring standardization, quality and consistency of training programsStays current on educational trends and works to update and improve professional and business knowledge, skills and attitudeOther duties as assignedMinimum Experience and Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Aviation, Aviation Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experienceFive (5) years Part 121 airline operations experience or equivalent experienceFAA Dispatch certificateExcellent verbal and written communications skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsAvailable for occasional overnight travel (10%)Proficient with Microsoft Office SuiteMust pass a pre-employment drug testMust be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorshipPreferred Experience and Qualifications:Three (3) years leadership experience with performance management, professional development, or organizational developmentJetBlue Dispatch qualificationThree (3) years’ experience working with regulatory requirementsThree (3) years of instructor experienceExcellent managerial and supervisory skills with the ability to effectively delegateIn depth knowledge of Part 121 Dispatch and Flight/Inflight Scheduling Federal Aviation RegulationsCrewmember Expectations: Regular attendance and punctualityPotential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-noticeAble to maintain a professional appearanceWhen working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraftMust be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and FunMust fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management SystemPromote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standardsIdentify safety and security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controlsUphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilitiesThe use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.Equipment:Computer and other office equipmentWork Environment:Normal Office EnvironmentAirports EnvironmentPhysical Effort: Generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently. (Sedentary)Compensation:The base pay range for this position is between $114,000.00 and $170,000.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
