Job Summary

Kick your culinary career into high gear with Compass Group. We are seeking a growth minded Chef Manager for our corporate dining account based in the Minneapolis market. In this role you will be responsible for the success of both the culinary and food service operation. We need a culinary professional who can balance back of house activities coupled with daily operations oversight to include reporting, scheduling, inventory control, POS system management, etc. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an industry leader offering tremendous advancement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Full culinary management of food service operation to include inventory, ordering and receiving
• Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable
• Proficient in menu development, cost controls, purchasing and inventory with a focus on sourcing and utilizing local food products
• Partners with the client to deliver quality on site catered events, as demanded by the operation
• Possesses a passion for sustainability and quality ingredients
• Inspires, motivates, and engages a loyal, high performing team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Must have a working knowledge of HACCP
• Three years of culinary management experience in contract foodservice or full service restaurant with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control
• Extensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
• Experience with exposition cooking needed
• Proven experience leading a high functioning back of house team
• Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable; must be systems savvy and comfortable utilizing technology on a daily basis
