NextGen Hospitality Solutions is looking for a passionate and skilled Kitchen Manager / Sous Chef to join our elite team at our upscale casual seafood restaurant located in Edina. This full-time, on-site role offers a unique opportunity to work in a vibrant environment where culinary excellence meets exceptional service.
As the Kitchen Manager / Sous Chef, you will oversee kitchen operations, ensuring that our dishes uphold the highest quality standards. You will play a crucial role in menu development, staff management, and maintaining a seamless workflow in the kitchen, all while contributing to the ambiance that defines our restaurant's unique dining experience. We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $75,000 annually, alongside an engaging workplace culture that fosters creativity and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and manage kitchen staff
- Assist in menu planning and development with a focus on seafood dishes
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, enhancing their culinary skills
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure excellent customer service
- Implement cost control measures to optimize kitchen efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager or Sous Chef in a restaurant
- Strong understanding of seafood preparation and cooking techniques
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant culinary degree or certification is preferred
