Position Overview

The Director of Business Development & Marketing is responsible for building and leading Constructable's growth engine—setting the strategy that fills the pipeline, wins the right work, and grows the Constructable brand across our target markets. This leader owns the full revenue cycle, from market positioning and lead generation through Discovery Call, proposal, negotiation, and signed contract. This role combines a hunter's mindset with strategic leadership. 

Key Responsibilities Growth Strategy & Leadership

· Develop and execute an annual business development and marketing plan aligned with Constructable's revenue, margin, and market-mix goals.

· Identify and prioritize target verticals, geographies, and key accounts, with a focus on Energy, Oil & Gas, Data Centers, Transportation, and Industrial markets.

· Partner with the CEO and leadership team on go/no-go decisions, pricing strategy, and long-range growth planning.

· Report on pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and growth performance to the CEO and leadership team.

Team Leadership & Development

· Lead, coach, and develop the Business Development and Marketing teams.

· Set clear goals, activity standards, and KPIs; conduct regular pipeline reviews and one-on-ones.

· Recruit and onboard top talent as the team scales.

· Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement grounded in Constructable's Core Values.

Pipeline Development & Opportunity Management

· Oversee the full sales process, from lead qualification and Discovery Calls to closed-won contracts.

· Personally source and lead strategic, high-value pursuits through executive networking, referrals, and industry events.

· Ensure a healthy, accurately forecasted pipeline in Salesforce with clear stage definitions and conversion targets.

· Partner with Estimating and Preconstruction to align pursuits with capacity and capabilities.

Proposal, Pricing & Contract Management

· Oversee development of compelling, customized proposals and responses to RFPs/RFQs in collaboration with the Estimating Team.

· Establish proposal standards, templates, and win/loss review processes.

· Lead or support negotiation of commercial terms and contract language in collaboration with legal and executive leadership.

Marketing & Brand

· Own Constructable's brand, positioning, and messaging across all channels.

· Direct the marketing strategy, including website, digital and social media, content, case studies, project photography, and collateral.

· Plan and manage trade shows, industry associations, sponsorships, and client events.

· Run targeted account-based marketing and demand generation campaigns that feed the BD pipeline.

· Manage the marketing budget and measure ROI by channel and campaign.

Client Relationship Management

· Build and maintain trusted, executive-level relationships with new and existing clients.

· Drive key account plans focused on retention, repeat business, and long-term client value.

· Act as the voice of the customer internally, relaying market intelligence, competitive insights, and client feedback to leadership and operations.

CRM, Analytics & Reporting

· Own Salesforce as the system of record for all BD and marketing activity, ensuring data quality and adoption.

· Build dashboards and reports to track KPIs, forecast revenue, and optimize outreach and conversion strategies.

Requirements:

Qualifications Required

· 10+ years of experience in B2B business development and/or marketing, ideally in industrial construction, engineering, or capital projects.

· 5+ years of experience leading and developing business development and/or marketing teams.

· Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets and managing complex sales cycles from lead qualification to contract execution.

· Experience developing and executing integrated business development and marketing strategies.

· Deep experience with RFPs, bids, and negotiated contracts.

· Advanced consultative selling, strategic account management, and executive relationship-building skills.

· Strong negotiation, objection handling, and closing capabilities.

· Proficiency in Salesforce, ZoomInfo, and sales and marketing enablement tools.

· Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.

· Highly motivated, strategic, and data-driven, with the ability to roll up your sleeves and execute.

Preferred

· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, or other relevant field highly preferred; MBA a plus.

· Background in design-build or industrial construction industries.

· Experience working with clients in Energy, Oil & Gas, Data Centers, and Transportation sectors.

· Existing relationships or network in one or more of Constructable's target verticals.

· Experience building or scaling a business development function in a growing company.
