Job Overview Primary City/State: 25550 North Lake Pleasant Parkway, Peoria, AZ 85383 Category: Skilled Nursing Shift: Day Department: Complete Care-Lake Pleasant Sign-On Bonus: $15k Hours: 0700 - 1930; ER RN experience required Job Summary The RN's practice is guided by the ANA Standard for Professional Nurse and Code of Ethics. The RN has knowledge of professional nursing principles, practices, concepts, and procedures as applied to the care of the patient population served. The RN records patients' medical history and symptoms, helps perform diagnostic tests and analyze results, operates medical equipment, administers treatment and medications, and helps with patient follow-up and rehabilitation. The RN establishes a care plan or contributes to an existing plan. The plan may include activities such as administering medication, careful checking of dosages, avoiding interactions; starting, maintaining, and discontinuing intravenous (IV) lines for fluid, medication, blood, and blood products; administering therapies and treatments; observing the patient and recording those observations; and consulting with physicians and other healthcare clinicians. The RN teaches patients and their families how to manage illnesses or injuries, explains post-treatment and home care needs; diet, nutrition, and exercise programs; and self‑administration of medication and therapy. The RN provides direction to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides regarding patient care and delegates when appropriate. The RN supports efforts to advance clinical knowledge and skills, precepts new hire staff and students, and assists the staff and students to seek and complete the tasks required to complete their competency skills. The RN continues to enhance knowledge in nursing management and care of patient problems and conditions as required. Essential Functions Collects health data systematically and continuously, prioritizing data collection based on patient condition or needs and involving the family. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnoses, utilizing nursing diagnosis to develop, implement, evaluate, and revise a patient plan of care that is family‑centered, developmentally and age‑appropriate, and culturally relevant. Identifies expected outcomes individualized to the patient and specific health problems. Develops plans of care individualized to the patient’s condition or needs, reflecting current evidence‑based nursing practice and ensuring continuity of care. Implements interventions in the plan of care, initiates treatments, medications, emergency and resuscitative measures based on standing orders, policies, and procedures. Provides nursing care to meet physical, emotional, spiritual, and social‑cultural needs using a family‑centered approach. Evaluates patient progress toward outcome attainment. Documents observations, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures, monitoring data, and other relevant data in a retrievable form. Provides ongoing evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of the care plan to maintain and enhance patient outcomes. Evaluates nursing practice against professional standards and regulations, maintaining current knowledge in nursing practice. Integrates ethical principles in all aspects of practice. Enhances knowledge of culture and diversity needs for specific populations. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care delivery. Participates in evidence‑based research to identify strategies for improving nursing practice and patient outcomes. Considers safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning and delivering patient care, utilizing resources efficiently and effectively. Education Other / Certificate: All Diploma and ADN hires must complete a BSN within 60 months of hire OR have 5 or more years of Registered Nurse experience at the time of hire. Required: Associates or Diploma in Nursing. Experience Other >10 months med‑surg or acute specialty setting. Required: 1 year RN experience for all Float Positions. Licensure & Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. BLS training course C, and unit-specific certification as required by specialty area DOP. Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona (State and/or Compact). National certification for unit-specific patient population required upon hire. Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
