Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: Tele remote monitoring experience required Pass/fail EKG exam the responsibility of the candidate Description: The position involves providing care in a unit specializing in general surgical patients. A focus on pre-operative and post-operative care needs is essential. The patient population will primarily be medical-surgical. The shift schedule is for three 12-hour night shifts. The nurse will have a patient ratio of approximately 1:5-6. It is important that the candidate is flexible with scheduling. There is a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences. Candidates must be prepared to float to other campuses as needed for patient care. The role requires strong skills in interpretation of dysrhythmias. Experience with BIPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and IV management is expected. The nurse will work alongside interdisciplinary support teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Compliance requirements must be met prior to the start date. Candidates should be knowledgeable about isolation precautions and infection control protocols. The ability to manage complex patient care scenarios is crucial.
