Summary: This position functions as a full-time employee to the Outreach Laboratory Director. The position is located in the Laboratory Department of Doctors Hospital at Renaissance. The purpose of this position is to provide daily oversight of all activities of the assigned area, which may include Patient Service Centers/Mobile/In-office Phlebotomy (IOP). Responsible for supervising a department including: Phlebotomists, Phlebotomist Floaters, and Group Leaders. Responsible for employee review, training, development, disciplinary actions as well as ensuring department compliance with all Phlebotomy and Operations procedures. Ensure maintenance of a safe, professional environment in all facilities supervised.

Position Education/Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. AA degree preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Supervises day-to-day activities within the department
• Ensures that excellent services is provided to the clients by monitoring subordinate activities and generating feedback
• Ensures that all safety requirements and company policies are adhered to
• Responsible for making sure all locations are covered and productive.
• Trains and evaluates subordinates
• Utilizes personal and professional skills to promote customer relations.
• Communicates with laboratory staff and its customers to ensure quality patient care.
• Maintains and supports a service oriented relationship with customers.
• Strives to maintain a positive work environment.
• Utilizes job knowledge, judgment and problem solving skills to ensure quality.
• Evaluates department policies and procedures. Makes changes based on analysis of information such as attendance, workflow, wait times and errors. Communicates policy and procedure changes made by Management.

Other information: JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 - 5 years of supervisory experience in high complexity clinical laboratory setting.

Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to all DHR customers. All employees are required to attend the DHR C.A.R.E.S program which outlines the Customer Service Principals including: Commitment, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Service.

Age Specific: Employees must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirement relative to his or her age.
