Lims App Tech Lead

Role Description

As a LabVantage LIMS Application Technical Lead, you will drive the architecture, development, and delivery of scalable laboratory informatics solutions while guiding and mentoring technical teams. In this role you will play a key role in:

• Leading the architecture, design, development, and implementation of LabVantage LIMS solutions (Version 8 and above), ensuring adherence to development standards, best practices, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Designing and developing Java-based customizations and extensions, REST and SOAP web services, and Jasper Reports to meet complex laboratory and business reporting requirements.
• Developing, optimizing, and maintaining medium to complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, ensuring performance, scalability, and data integrity.
• Providing technical leadership across project planning, development, testing, deployment, and production support cycles, including code reviews, mentoring of development teams, and resolution of complex production issues.
• Collaborating with laboratory users, business analysts, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate laboratory workflows and business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in LabVantage LIMS architecture, implementation, and application development, including Java customizations in LabVantage Version 8 and above.
• Strong programming skills in Java, SQL, and JavaScript, with proven experience developing REST and SOAP web services and integrating LabVantage with enterprise applications and third-party systems.
• Solid expertise in Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server database development, including complex query optimization, stored procedures, and database object management.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and delivering complex LIMS implementation projects, with excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, laboratory informatics, and data management, with knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards such as GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, ISO 17025, and GLP/GMP being a strong advantage.

• LabVantage LIMS Certification (Preferred).
• ITIL® 4 Foundation (Preferred).
• Oracle Java or Oracle SQL Certification (Preferred).
• Agile/Scrum Certification (Preferred).
