Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a PA or compact license and at least one completed travel assignment for a rotating shift position.

Details

• Work in a Medical/Neuro/Trauma Intensive Care Unit setting
• 13-week assignment with rotating day (0700-1930) and night (1900-0730) 3x12-hour shifts
• Shift rotation typically occurs every 6 weeks
• Required to work every other weekend
• Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA state or compact) in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (PALS preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• At least one completed travel assignment required
• Trauma experience preferred, including Trauma Level II
• Cerner charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and respiratory failure/pulmonary conditions
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and renal failure management
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and administering emergency medications
• Experience with CVA/stroke management, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery/TBI/spinal cord injury care
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Knowledge of IV insulin protocols and infection prevention/isolation precautions
• One supervisory reference within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for critically ill patients across medical, neurological, and trauma ICU populations
• Must complete PA fingerprinting and Childline registration promptly upon signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Candidates with prior permanent or per diem employment at this health system must have been separated for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates within 75 miles are not eligible for this position
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this role
