Job Title: Systems Control Center Technician / Operator

Job Overview

We are seeking a Systems Control Center Technician / Operator to support operations within a large-scale water and wastewater utility environment. This role involves monitoring, controlling, and optimizing plant and distribution systems through real-time data and process control systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience in process operations, utilities, or industrial plant environments with a strong understanding of pumps, pressure systems, and process control.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor system operations including pumps, pressure levels (air, vacuum, hydraulics), flow rates, and valve positions

• Start, stop, and adjust pumps and process equipment based on system demand

• Track reservoir levels, elevations, and system performance metrics

• Troubleshoot operational issues and perform minor equipment repairs

• Generate work orders and coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs

• Respond to emergency situations and escalate issues as required

• Operate and monitor process control systems (SCADA or similar platforms)

• Analyze real-time and historical data to support process optimization

• Maintain daily logs, reports, and operational records

• Coordinate activities with operations and maintenance teams

• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE

• Provide on-the-job training as needed

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field OR equivalent hands-on experience

• Experience in water/wastewater treatment, utilities, or industrial process environments

• Strong knowledge of pumps, valves, flow systems, and pressure systems

• Experience working with process control systems (SCADA or similar)

• Ability to troubleshoot and support plant operations

Work Environment & Requirements

• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

• Comfortable working in industrial environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required

• Exposure to outdoor conditions and varying weather environments

• Must be able to follow strict safety and operational protocols

Preferred Skills

• Experience in wastewater or water treatment plant operations

• Familiarity with control room operations and system monitoring

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

• Ability to interpret system data and make operational decisions

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver's license

• Ability to travel between sites if required
