Head of IP, RayzeBio (Small Molecule/Chemistry)

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks an experienced IP attorney to lead intellectual property strategy and operations for RayzeBio's radiopharmaceutical portfolio. The role involves developing global IP strategy, managing patent matters, overseeing due diligence for transactions, and building the growing IP team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global IP strategy for RayzeBio's radiopharmaceutical pipeline across R&D, regulatory, and commercial teams
• Manage complex patent matters including patentability analyses, freedom-to-operate, and validity assessments
• Lead IP due diligence for M&A, licensing, and collaboration activities; evaluate partner and target IP portfolios
• Build and develop RayzeBio's IP team, provide technical guidance, and manage outside patent counsel relationships
• Draft, review, and negotiate IP provisions for strategic transactional agreements and complex licensing deals

Requirements

• 12+ years patent prosecution and IP strategy experience in small molecule, radiopharmaceutical, or peptide chemistry
• Registered to practice before U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
• J.D. degree and admission to practice law in any U.S. state (California preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or pharmaceutical sciences
• Demonstrated experience mentoring and managing patent attorneys or patent agents
• Substantial IP due diligence and risk assessment experience in licensing and transactions
• Excellent strategic judgment and ability to operate as trusted partner to senior leadership

Compensation: $297,700 - $360,747 base
