Our organization is seeking a passionate and dynamic clinician-educator to enhance our team of seven neurointensivists.

The Neurocritical Care Division manages two Neurosciences Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and provides care for a diverse array of patients with neurological injuries. The NSICU at our main hospital features a cutting-edge 16-bed facility, specializing in complex neurovascular and skull base surgical procedures. A significant renovation of our Upper East Side campus is currently in progress, expected to be completed by 2028. This expansion will increase the NSICU capacity from 16 to 23 beds, emphasizing the integration of advanced technologies for patient and family-centered care, alongside a modern conference room and private spaces for families.

Located at Mount Sinai West, the NSICU comprises 14 beds and focuses on treating intracerebral hemorrhages (ICH), epilepsy, and movement disorders. Beyond ICU care, our neurocritical care team manages and transfers over 1,000 neurologic emergency cases annually throughout our health system. The division is proud to offer a dually accredited neurocritical care fellowship program, with educational and research conferences seamlessly coordinated across campuses. Our extensive research initiatives include NIH and industry-sponsored multicenter clinical trials, investigator-led studies, and the Dangayach Neuroemergencies Management and Transfers (NEMAT) lab, all supported by the research infrastructure of the Department of Neurosurgery and the Institute of Critical Care Medicine (ICCM). Over the next decade, our neurocritical care team is set to expand into additional hospitals within our system, and we are looking for a promising faculty member to advance their career with us.

Key Responsibilities:

• The Neurocritical Care Fellowship Program Director will provide both strategic and operational leadership for our ACGME and UCNS-accredited fellowship program.
• This role includes overseeing curriculum development, simulation-based training, clinical education, fellow supervision and assessment, recruitment, mentorship, faculty involvement, program enhancement, and adherence to ACGME and institutional standards.
• In collaboration with multidisciplinary faculty and GME leadership, the Program Director will ensure a rigorous and inclusive training environment that equips fellows for independent practice and leadership roles in neurocritical care.
• Our institution ranks first in the United States for NIH funding in Neurosciences. Our neurosurgical clinical research coordinator team, consisting of over 25 full-time staff, supports one of the most prolific clinical research initiatives in the nation. New faculty members are encouraged to engage in and contribute to these research efforts.

Qualifications:

• Medical Degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid New York Medical License.
• Board Certification in Neurology.
• Completion of a fellowship in Neurocritical Care.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Graduate Medical Education is required.
• Must maintain current credentials, including CV, License, DEA, CDS, Board Certification, and documentation of hospital admitting privileges.
• Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit hours must be kept up to date as required for Board Certification and/or hospital staff privileges.
• Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, mentoring, and teaching abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively within a team.
• A commitment to delivering high-quality, cost-effective, comprehensive medical care.
• Demonstrates courteous, caring, respectful, and compassionate behavior, listening and responding in a non-judgmental manner with clear explanations.

Compensation ranges from $300,000 to $375,000 (excluding bonuses, incentive compensation, or benefits).

Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, collections, and community needs. Therefore, actual salaries may be closer to either end of the range, and in some cases, may fall outside the listed range. The stated salary range applies to full-time positions and does not include bonuses, incentive compensation, or benefits.
