Job Description Summary MUSC Health Elgin Urgent Care is searching for a PRN Advanced Practice Provider. The successful applicant will be an APP interested in working on a PRN basis to care for patients at MUSC Health’s Urgent Care located in Elgin, SC. The APP will join a busy and thriving urgent care working alongside physicians and advanced practice providers and must be able to work in a high‑volume clinic while providing compassionate patient care. Position Information Entity: MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) Worker Type: Employee Worker Sub‑Type: PRN Pay Rate Type: Hourly Pay Grade: Health-33 Scheduled Weekly Hours: 12 Work Shift: (unspecified) Required Qualifications Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an APRN. APRN or FNP (Family NP): birth to death; stable chronic disease state management; primary care across the lifespan. Minimum of 1 year experience as an APP in urgent care, primary care, or emergency medicine. Basic Life Support (BLS). Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). DHEC and DEA. Responsibilities Takes comprehensive history and performs physical examinations. Evaluates and treats on the basis of history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results pursuant to the practice agreement or scope of practice guideline. Willingness to obtain DOT certification to conduct DOT physicals. Performs therapeutic procedures in accordance with procedural privileges, skill and proficiency upon hire as approved by the Primary Supervising Physician. Initiates referrals to other health care providers, and/or consults with the attending physician or the collaborating physician. Documents and bills for direct care provided. Utilizes current research and evidence‑based decision‑making in all clinical practice. Participates in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research. Supports accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities of the organization. Participates in professional organizations and continuing education. Potential to precept students at MUSC enrolled as an advanced practice provider student; and facilitates learning of other new team members.
