Special Education Teacher (Mod/Severe) – Mission Viejo, CA

Seeking a new opportunity within a school district? Spindle proudly collaborates with an outstanding school district in Mission Viejo, CA in search of a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide coverage for a maternity leave during the 2026–2027 school year!

Position Details:

Discipline: Special Education (Mod/Severe)
Dates: August 24, 2026 – December 2026
Schedule: Full-Time
Caseload: Elementary students with moderate to severe disabilities

Special Education Teacher Job Description:

Provide specialized instruction to elementary students with moderate to severe disabilities
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Support students' academic, functional, communication, and behavioral goals
Create differentiated lessons and individualized learning activities based on student needs
Collaborate with families, related service providers, and school staff to support student progress
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with special education requirements

Pay & Benefits:

Requirements:

Active California Moderate/Severe Special Education Credential (required)
Must provide a screenshot of active California CTC credential at the time of submission

Interview Process:

10–15 minute screening call with a Spindle recruiter
20–30 minute virtual interview with the district
