Gastroenterologist — FTE (Direct Hire)

About the Role
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Gastroenterologist to join a well-established practice in Hilton Head, SC. This opportunity is ideal for a physician who enjoys a balanced clinical mix of inpatient and outpatient care and is open to performing a range of GI procedures. The role offers a collaborative environment, strong referral base, and the ability to build a long-term practice in a desirable coastal community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive gastroenterology care across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of GI and liver conditions.
• Perform endoscopic procedures and other GI procedures as clinically appropriate.
• Participate in inpatient consults, outpatient clinic visits, and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with primary care, hospitalists, surgeons, and other specialists to coordinate care.
• Maintain timely documentation in the EHR and contribute to quality and patient-safety initiatives.

Schedule & Practice Model

• Full-time, direct hire position.
• Mixed inpatient and outpatient practice.
• Procedure-focused role with time allocated for clinic and hospital coverage.
• 2026 and 2027 start opportunities available, depending on candidate availability and practice needs.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology.
• Active or eligible for South Carolina medical licensure.
• Strong procedural skills and willingness to perform a mix of inpatient and outpatient GI care.
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Prior experience in a hospital-based or mixed GI practice preferred.
