Sanitation Tech | Overnight

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure product on the floor is squeegee/scooped and placed in the appropriate disposal bin. Avoid placing food products, gloves, wraps and any other article down the drain. Ensure drain covers are in place. All inedible food products in yellow trash bins and other non‑food inedible products in gray trash bins. Ensure use of water in cleaning is minimized to control overspray and prevent cross‑contamination. Ensure all motors, electrical panels and plugs are properly covered with plastic bags. Ensure that equipment is properly disassembled/assembled for cleaning. Ensure all parts remain with the equipment and are stored properly. All hoses are stored properly after use. Perform lock‑out/tag‑out procedures. Follow GMPs and adhere to USDA guidelines for food/sanitary guidelines. Operate equipment controls and report any malfunctions or potential hazards to the supervisor. Operate power washers safely and in a timely manner. Report all equipment concerns to the supervisor or maintenance team. This helps avoid late start‑ups in production. Perform other duties as assigned by the lead or supervisor. Report to the workstation properly dressed, wearing correct PPE on time. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Qualifications Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English. Bilingual preferred. Must stand, reach, bend, climb steps or stairs occasionally; lift up to 50 lbs. frequently. Work well with others; meet required demands of quality to support the sanitation process with minimum supervision. Understand and demonstrate workable knowledge of chemical usage/cleaning. Evaluation of performance occurs within the first 120 hours of employment. Demonstrate a good mechanical aptitude. Understand that chemicals are used for cleaning/sanitizing; know proper use, storage, and PPE involved. Ensure safety and quality are always priorities during cleaning operations of equipment with moving parts. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the team member works around moving machinery. The team member is exposed to hot, cold, and refrigerated conditions, loud noise, and wet floors that may become slippery. The team member must be aware of their surroundings. Physical Demands and Work Environment Must be able to travel throughout production areas. Work in an office and factory environment, including refrigerated warehouses. Must be able to push, pull, and lift occasional heavy loads (up to 50 lbs.). Must be able to work flexible hours based upon operational needs. Must be able to operate power washers for cleaning if required. Documentation and Procedures Safety rules and GMPs in the area. Chemical products/MSDS; safety training; chemical foaming/power washer guides. SSOPs for equipment cleaning and sanitation personal protective equipment. Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Read and demonstrate understanding of cleaning chemicals used in the job role. Understand required assistance on other lines and areas as sanitation activities are needed. Additional Documentation and SOPs Safety rules, GMPs, chemical usage, lockout/tag‑out. Plant sanitary standards and SOPs. Production personal protective equipment (PPE). Compensation & Benefits COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The starting rate for this full‑time, hourly position is $19.50 + $2 shift differential. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job‑related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
