Job Responsibilities

The Accounting Manager will oversee daily accounting operations while leading a team of accounting professionals. Responsibilities include managing month-end and year-end close processes, preparing financial statements and management reports, monitoring financial performance and key metrics, supporting budgeting and forecasting initiatives, maintaining internal controls and accounting policies, managing bank and trust account reconciliations, coordinating audits and tax engagements, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and trust accounting requirements, implementing process improvements and automation initiatives, and partnering with leadership to support strategic financial objectives.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of Accounting Manager or equivalent leadership experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting required
• Experience overseeing accounting operations and financial reporting
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis
• Experience managing and mentoring accounting staff
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
• Ability to work full-time onsite in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Preferred Qualifications

• Law firm accounting experience
• Professional services industry experience
• Experience with trust accounting and trust reconciliations
• CPA license strongly preferred
• Master's degree in accounting or related field
• Experience managing accounting functions within a mid-to-large-sized organization
• Experience leading process improvement and automation initiatives
• Exposure to external audits, tax engagements, and regulatory reporting requirements
