About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Rochester, New York, 14626!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent experience License: Current state license required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Mandatory competency with phlebotomy. Competency in placing IVs. Understanding of dysrhythmias and their management. Experience with Rapid Response Teams. Description: Registered Nurses are required to have a mandatory competency with phlebotomy as well as placing IVs. These skills are required for all RNs. The night patient ratios are expected to be 6-7 to 1. In case of staff calling in, ratios may stretch to 8-10. Patient Care Technicians are available on all units for vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living. In addition to general nursing duties, RNs must be skilled in the interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of dysrhythmias. Nurses will utilize non-invasive airway management and handle the use of nasal cannulas and oxygen face masks. They are also responsible for peripheral line care/management and isolation precautions. Travelers may be required to float between like units as needed. Candidates within a specified radius of the facility are not accepted. Charting experience with the specified system is a hard requirement. Previous charge experience is preferred. This unit provides interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy. Preferred candidates will have experience in a cardiac unit. The daily census and the number of visits per day may vary.
